With the technology support of Qingdao University of Science & Technology, Sailun Co., Ltd has grown into the teaching and scientific research base and the external demonstration base.

The main scientific and research projects of the Technology Center are the raw material and rubber performance analysis, recipes and property optimization of the materials, tire structure and pattern design and performance optimization, tire performance test and analysis, the basic research on tires of the mobile center for post-doctoral research, and outdoor test.

• The raw material and rubber performance analysis
  Tires are processed with different materials through building and curing procedures. Different parts are made from different kinds of materials. The performance of tires depends on the framework materials, polymer and reinforcement materials, which are the central objects of raw material researching. The polymer and reinforcement materials are the key factors on tire performance. Researchers attach utmost importance to researching on the dynamic properties of rubber, which is a technological breakthrough in tire industry.
  
  
• Recipes and property research
  The project adopts the domestically advanced system of computer-assisting design on tire recipes. The database records the dynamic property data of tire recipes. With the aid of computer analysis on the data, we improve the ability of recipes and property research. The research platform makes great contributions on optimizing the recipes of high-performance and ultra high-performance tires.
  
  
• Research on the structure and tread design
  Different structure and tread design can greatly affect the anti-skid and fuel-efficient performance of tires. These projects aims at the research of tread patterns鈥? effect on tires鈥?anti-skid and braking performance, and providing scientific evidence for the structure and tread design of tires.
  
  
• Tire performance test
  The major objective of this project is to do simulated tests of tire performance. Most of the tire manufacturers can only do such routine tests as high speed performance, endurance, strength, and so on, except the rolling resistance test and anti-skid performance test. The research center will upgrade the level of rolling resistance test and anti-skid performance test so as to provide technology support for the research on high-performance tires.
  
  
• Participating in National Criteria formulation
  Sailun Co. Ltd makes great contributions to the formulation of several national criteria, among which "The Mechanical Performance Test Method of Inflated Tires", "Tire Noise Test Method", "Pressure Distribution Test Method" have been finished and submitted, "PCR Tire Series", "TBR Tire Series", "Tire Claim Settlement Criteria" are still being amended. Now Sailun is still working on the formulation of "Technical Requirement of OTR Tires", "Non-destructive Test of PCR Tires", "The Sizes, Pressure and Load of OTR Tires".
